FAQ
-
Is Mexico (Baja) safe?
Yes! Megan’s family has been traveling to this area of Mexico for years because of how safe and comfortable it feels. The local people are incredibly nice and welcoming. The town of Todos Santos, while growing, still is much smaller than Cabo and therefore is much safer. El Pescadero and Cerritos Beach is even smaller. We’ve never had any issues and take normal precautions while traveling to a foreign country (keep passport close, don’t travel with significant jewelry, etc…). If you have any specific concerns please reach out to us!
-
Can you drink the water in Baja?
No - air on the side of caution. Most places (villas, hotels, restaurants) know that visitors cannot drink the local water and thus have filtered waters systems and offer bottled water. But, always ask for filtered/bottled water and check with your accommodations to be sure of water quality beforehand!
-
Is the wedding locale far from the airport?
Cerritos Beach, El Pescedaro, and Todos Santos are 45 minutes - 1 hour north of the airport. Please see our transportation page for more information about easiest ways to navigate and get around Baja.
-
Do you have a registry?
No we do not. We appreciate your time and energy just attending our wedding. We do not need anything else! Time spent with you is most important to us. IF you are unable to come and would still like contribute to our wedding, please consider donating to Cerritos Dogs. More information here.
-
Is your wedding kid friendly?
Yes! Come one, come all. Hazel will also be there!
-
How much of the weekend will be planned activities?
We will have one planned event - the wedding ceremony! We also will plan shared activities (like a beach day) that everyone is welcome to join. But, we also want this to be your vacation as well! We are excited to share some time with you all, but there will also be a lot of unstructured time to go explore or relax! More to come on the Weekend Itinerary.

What is the driving like in Baja?
Driving in Mexico can be intimidating. But it is not bad at all! There are many less traffic laws in Mexico, so drive confidently! It is the same as driving at home, but with less speed limits and less rules. We recommend teaming up with confident drivers if you are nervous! Also, the dirt roads are intense. Go slow and don’t worry, any of the cars you rent will be able to make it around where we are at.
-
What is the currency most used?
Many places accept both Pesos and Dollars, but its usually much easier to deal in the local currency (pesos). Also, you can always use your credit/debit cards at most places. Local restaurants/shops may only accept cash so make sure you have cash on hand. There is a money exchange in the airport and a bank with ATM in Todos Santos.

Where can/can't we swim?
The only area that we recommend swimming is Cerritos Beach. Otherwise, since El Pescadero is on the Pacific Ocean it tends to have strong undercurrents and large waves. We intentionally are having our wedding weekend somewhere where there are fun beaches that are swimmable!
